Which simulator should I book?
First time?
Bronze or Bronze Plus
Bronze is the perfect introduction — wheel, pedals, full sim physics on a 32" screen. Bronze Plus adds a Moza R3 Direct Drive wheel: faster, more detailed force feedback and your first taste of what proper sim hardware actually feels like.
Want to race properly?
Go Silver
Silver is where real racecraft develops. A 49" ultrawide opens up your peripheral vision, and the load cell brake pedal measures pressure — not just movement — the same way a real race car does. Most regulars live here.
Want maximum immersion?
Gold Triple-Screen or Gold VR
Both run a Simucube Direct Drive wheel and full haptic feedback through the chassis. Triple Screen wraps near-full peripheral vision across three 32" monitors. Gold VR uses a Varjo Aero headset to put you inside the car with full 3D depth. Different experiences — pick your flavour.

Platinum — full motion
D-BOX motion platform, Simucube Active Pedals that let you physically feel brake lock-up and ABS, triple 48" 4K screens. Every sensory channel engaged. The closest thing to driving a real race car available anywhere in the South Island.

Other Notes & Tips
Target times – Each of our preselected experiences feature HOSS voucher rewards for achieving what we think are great times relative to the skill level. Keep an eye on the target times for your chosen Car and Track Combo and see if you can take home a Bronze, Silver or Gold HOSS voucher reward.
Sim Racing can be tough – Don’t be discouraged if you are not hitting the target times. Take some time to get up to speed, remember the main aim is to enjoy yourself but if you do want to push yourself to improve HOSS is here to help. Just ask for tips and advice and we will be happy to help.
Keys to success – Sim Racing can be a lot of fun, take your time to learn a track and the handling characteristics of your chosen vehicle, start slowly and attempt to complete clean laps before slowly building up your pace. Once you have learnt the circuit and feel comfortable with the car you can start to push more and more and that’s when the real fun starts!
Car Selection for newbies – Our Preset Hotlap experiences have been designed and tailored perfectly to varying skill levels and we suggest building your session based on these experiences. However, feel free to discuss with a HOSS staff member to help you decide. Many customers get the most enjoyment and improve faster by starting off in lower horsepower vehicles and building up.
Virtual Reality – Some people may experience nausea when first experiencing the VR headsets due to motion sickness. Our VR systems are optimized for smooth frame rates, providing the best experience possible. Most people adjust over time. If you feel uncomfortable, let our HOSS staff know—we can switch your session to single monitor or triple screens.
